Recently, the highly anticipated MEDICAL JAPAN TOKYO 2024 concluded successfully from October 9 to 11 at the Makuhari Messe Exhibition Center in Chiba, Japan.
Exhibition Overview
MEDICAL JAPAN is a dedicated B2B business event covering all aspects of the medical, elderly care, and pharmaceutical industries. It aims to showcase the latest products and technologies, uncover emerging industry trends, and provide significant networking opportunities. For exhibitors looking to tap into high-potential markets, it serves as the ideal gateway to the Japanese and broader Asian markets. For visitors, it is also a beneficial event to explore new products and stay up-to-date with the latest industry knowledge.
The exhibition featured 600 exhibitors and attracted 18,000 visitors, along with 35 related conferences held during the event. MEDICAL JAPAN 2024 was composed of seven specialized exhibitions, covering a wide range of fields including medical devices, medical IT technology, clinic equipment, pharmacy systems, elderly care equipment, IT technology, and infection prevention products. Notably, this year's conference's relevant sessions focused on key topics such as telemedicine and medical IT technology, elderly care and welfare, as well as infection prevention products and systems. Discussions explored the enhancement of healthcare accessibility and efficiency through medical IT technology, the innovation and iteration of elderly care products amid Japan’s aging population, and future trends in infection prevention products and systems in the post-pandemic era.
As a key player in the global medical device market, Japan’s market dynamics and development trends have widely been concerned by the industry. According to data released by Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, the size of Japan's medical device market has been steadily increasing in recent years. According to incomplete statistics, in the global medical device market, Japan occupies about 7% of the market share. Although this figure is lower than that of the United States and Europe, it nonetheless highlights the importance of Japan’s medical device industry. Japan's unique geographical location allows its domestic medical device exports to reach across the entire Asian region. With the country's aging population driving increased demand for elderly disease treatment and care, the Japanese medical device market has gradually shifted from an export-oriented focus to becoming more open to imported products. This shift has also attracted many Asian enterprises looking to expand into the Japanese market. The exhibition was held in Chiba-ken, located in southeastern Kanto Plain. Chiba is a significant part of the Greater Tokyo Area, one of Japan's three major metropolitan areas. It is situated on the eastern side of the capital region and is one of Japan’s most developed areas. Chiba Prefecture stands out as a major hub for agriculture, fisheries, and industry.
At this year’s exhibition, Bluesail Surgical showcased a range of star products, successfully capturing the attention of numerous participants. The company presented a series of medical devices, including endoscopic staplers, disposable circular staplers, disposable PPH staplers, disposable retrieval bags, and disposable skin staplers. These products, known for their outstanding performance and innovative design, attracted a steady stream of visitors from various Asian countries, making the booth a popular stop throughout the event.
At this exhibition, the newly launched Siderlux® powered articulating endoscopic linear cutter and Astrolux® intelligent powered articulating endoscopic linear cutter received high acclaim from industry professionals due to their extensive application prospect of instruments in surgery. In addition to the endo staplers, Bluesail Surgical’s other products also showcased impressive performance.
