On September 23, 2024, Bluesail Surgical concluded its third collaborative course with Prof. Diego González Rivas' UMICS Academy in Lisbon, Portugal. The course draw global participation from surgeons and medical specialists to, contributing to the advancement of surgical techniques and international knowledge exchanges.

Course Review

The collaboration between Bluesail Surgical and Prof. Diego González Rivas' UMICS Academy, initiated in November 2023 and has successfully conducted two courses, attracting top physician trainees from Europe, Latin America, Africa and the Middle East. The third collaborative course continued to deliver high- quality technical training and practical guidance in thoracic surgery.

The course agenda encompassed lectures, surgical demonstrations, animal experiments and interactive seminars. It is worth mentioning that Bluesail Surgical has equipped this training with self- innovative surgical instruments, offering trainees the opportunity to learn and practice under advanced technological conditions. The cooperation between Bluesail Surgical and Prof. Diego González Rivas' UMICS Institute facilitated cross-border learning and communication platform for thoracic surgeons, aiming to enhance surgical techniques and foster international cooperation in the field.

During the course, Prof. Diego González Rivas and Prof. Javier Gallego-Poveda shared their latest research findings in the field of minimally invasive surgery and instructed the trainees in surgical procedures. In addition, several symposia were organized to discuss the trends and challenges of minimally invasive surgical techniques.
