Prof Gonzalez's UniportalThoracoscopy Masterclass 4Th concluded successfully!

On 9 January 2024, the fourth session of the Uniportal Thoracoscopic Surgery Master Class was successfully concluded at Dali People's Hospital (The Third Affiliated Hospital of Dali University). As the world's leading expert in the field of Uniportal thoracoscopic surgery, Professor Gonzalez brought his rich experience and cutting-edge technology.

Prof. Diego Gonzalez Rivas is a leading surgeon in Uniportal thoracoscopic surgery, and is the first person in the world to perform Uniportal thoracoscopic VATS anatomical resection, and is known as the "Father of Uniportal Thoracoscopic Surgery in the World". Professor Gonzalez pioneered the world's first Uniportal thoracoscopic lobectomy in 2012, perfectly performing an operation on an early-stage lung cancer patient with an incision of only 2-3 cm. On 9 January 2024, Bluesail Surgery together with Bluesail Surgery together with Prof. Gonzalez conducted the 4th Academic Exchange and Surgical Demonstration of Uniportal Thoracoscopic Masterclass at Dali State People's Hospital (The Third Affiliated Hospital of Dali University).

On behalf of the State People's Hospital, Liu Qiongfen, secretary of the hospital, warmly welcomed Professor Gonzalez and hoped that he would come to Dali on a regular basis to carry out surgical teaching and promote new breakthroughs in cardiothoracic surgical technology of the State People's Hospital to provide international first-class diagnostic and treatment technology and better serve patients in Dali and the surrounding areas. She encouraged Cardiothoracic Surgery Ward I to make full use of the opportunity of this academic exchange to learn the latest technology of Uniportal thoracoscopy in depth.

During the pre-operative case discussion session, Professor Gonzalez discussed the surgical plan with the doctors. In the afternoon, Prof Gonzalez collaborated with the Cardiothoracic Surgery team to complete two Uniportal thoracoscopic radical lung cancer surgeries.
